Sampurna Khasnabis, MA

Sampurna joined Nia Impact Capital in 2022 as a Financial Analyst. In this role, she participates in the research and tracking of the financial and impact performance of Nia portfolio companies. She is responsible for conducting research on existing portfolio companies as well as potential additions to Nia’s public equity funds. Additionally, Sampurna is responsible for running the Nia “Change the Face of Finance” internship through which she enjoys interacting with Nia interns.

 

Sampurna graduated from the University of Chicago with a master’s in finance and policy in June 2022. Prior to graduate school, she spent more than five years working on impact measurement and policy analysis in India. She has worked across sectors including public, non-profit and think tank in the context of a developing country. She has first-hand experience in developing and testing impact metrics for policy interventions. Sampurna firmly believes in the power of harnessing private capital and interests for social change, and she is keen on applying her impact assessment and analysis skills to building strong public equity portfolios that create clear, measurable impact.

 

Sampurna currently resides in Chicago and enjoys cooking and long walks by the lake in her spare time. She is also the co-founder of Application Edge, an education and career advisory that focuses on helping students plan careers in the social sciences, in India.
