charitable giving

In addition to our day-to-day business, Nia is also involved in philanthropic work and initiatives.

Nia giving philosophy

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we seek to do foundation work differently.

Owning the paradox that is foundation work, we turn “business as usual” on its head and look outside the traditional philanthropy box. We recognize and attempt to name and address injustices. We are implementing new tools, seeking out our areas of weakness in partnership with our community.

Our granting and investing practices reflect this understanding, as we seek out organizations that are tackling root causes of injustice. We also aim to deploy capital to organizations bridging silos and addressing multiple interconnected issues, such as social inequity, environmental sustainability, etc.

Volunteering

Volunteering philosophy-In addition to Giving Tuesday grants, Nia employees may donate up to 3 work days per calendar year towards 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Employees can choose a charity of their choice or work together with other employees of Nia Impact Capital on a team effort (e.g., a company-wide volunteering day at a local)

giving tuesday

Our impact doesn’t stop at portfolio construction. Each year on Giving Tuesday, Nia donates a portion of management revenue to five nonprofit organizations engaging in essential corporate accountability work.
